VEDA Day 20: Drawing Dorothy with Faber-Castell Pitt Pens

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a total freak when it comes to The Wizard of Oz. I’ve read alllll the original books by L Frank Baum, and I have read the Gregory Maguire series (Wicked, Son of a Witch, A Lion Among Men, and Out of Oz) numerous times. I’ve seen Wicked the musical on the West End of London twice, and I know every word of the soundtrack. And of course, I grew up on the film with Judy Garland.

In short, I LOVES me some Wizard of Oz!

So it’s no surprise that when fate colluded to prompt me to do a portrait with my new Faber-Castell Pitt Pens¬†on the same day that my hand-lettering prompt was “Hero,” I had to choose to draw Dorothy.

And okay, it didn’t turn out to be the most amazing portrait, as I have not had enough time to learn how to use these pens yet. But I thought I’d share the results anyway! Enjoy!
