It’s Day 2! Well, if I’m honest, it’s actually Day 3, but internet issues yesterday forced me to work late into the night, and my video only got finished uploading at breakfast time. But that’s how it goes at times. Today, I present a video of a speed painting in my sketchbook.
The portrait is of my dear husband, who is sporting a sexy beard these days, even though he hates it! I love it, though, so he hasn’t shaved it off quite yet. Instead, he let me paint him in his full bearded glory! Woo!
The video isn’t the best because I had to stitch together several smaller videos, some from my phone and others from my webcam. And because of the previously mentioned internet issues, I couldn’t edit it until late into the evening, and it just took FOREVER. The painting itself was done first with Rembrandt Artist Watercolors and then PrismaColor Premier colored pencils to finish it off. I worked in my Strathmore Mixed Media Sketchbook, which I LOVE. The portrait is about 5 x 7 inches, and it took about 90 minutes total, in three stages (sketch, underpainting, pencil work). I hope you enjoy!
